We have been graffitied! PARP has taken a bold step forward; they appear to be impatient for the game to begin, and are stealthily slithering up around our ankles. Take heed before they strike again!

Abulafia: So what sort of development tools are available for writing Flash clients?
Wintermute: the flash IDE is terrible
Wintermute: so eric hand coded most of this
Wintermute: flash is setup to make animations and little movies
Wintermute: it’s not great for applications yet
Loli: Aww, we should send Eric a thank you note.

Dear Eric,

This demanding whiner would like to thank you very much for your dedication in creating the chat, and getting it up for me to waste many hours with. :D Smooches!

Add your two red papers in comments.

RE the GNE chat - did anyone get the email for this in time? — and, if so, what transpired? Gimme some juice!

An open letter to the “captive audience”:

Does anyone know when the next issue of Ludus is to be published? Is there a list of articles we can expect to see published? Is there a request list, a theme, a competition?

In the absence of activity, has anyone snuck in and stolen the GNE Fansite Crown? Thought not. (If anything, fan sites seems to have been disappearing…)

It seems that we’re all moaning about GNE being (slightly) delayed, but the one thing we can do to speed things up seems to have hit the rocks!

Think about it:

More articles written for Ludus
means
More issues of Ludus
means
Higher Google ranking
means
Higher GNE profile
means
More hits on Ludicorp website
means
More/faster funding for Ludicorp
means
More people working for Ludicorp
means
Decrease in development time
means
We get to play GNE sooner.

Enough talking about us being a “captive audience”. Let’s be “active consumers” instead!

I know there are one or two interesting projects going on right now: Thymic’s survey, Capo & Loli’s voice sampling thing (mine’s on the way, guys). So… where are they? Let’s have something posted, even if it’s only an interim measure.

(This message has been cross-posted to Paper Lane and the GNE forums. Let Satan have his wicked way with me if (s)he will.)

Very nicely done: the Stewart Butterfield Interview also has quite a charming photo of the winner of the coveted “The Stewart Butterfield Is Not Allowed to Win Best Developer” Award.

Forget the Real Game, I wanna play Nanoswarm!

OK, so who was it who was looking for Ginger Altoids in the game, and did you find any? I found some tonight, and bought an extra in case whomever it was still wanted it. Let me know….

Has anyone logged in to Confab yet? It doesn’t seem to work on my home computer. And I’m sadly envisioning big Confab GNE reunions going on while I’m busy at work :p
