What’s the deal? Did GNE go down this afternoon? Is it still down? Or do the gods just hate me?

Thank heavens I thought of Paper Lane. I was beginning to think something was wrong on my end.

Can I just make red paper at home, and ask them to credit it to me when they get the game up again?

Now this is just funny since Flippy just posted that addiction article.

Hey! That addiction remark is pretty snotty. I’m not addicted. I’m not!

Could someone let me know when the game is back up?

Funny the Devs haven’t said anything, either here or on the www.gameneverending.com page (which is still up, unlike alpha). I suppose they’re busy! But they’re so clued it’s surprising they haven’t taken the time to Inform the Community. We’ll have to demand the Whole Interesting Story from Caterina and Stewart and all when they return…

i assume its something beyond their control, like the connection at the ISP being down, otherwise alpha would be up with at least a notice. my guess is that www. and alpha. are on different servers.

It’s still down for me. :(

I spent the whole day getting Christmas decorations up, getting a tree, etc. assuming I could play tonight…and now it’s gone.

*sigh*
All that time I wasted living real life when I should have been on here…(kidding!) (sorta)

also - capo - nslookup shows alpha and www being on the same IP address. So unless they are running hsrp, nat or have a load balancer my guess is they are on the same machine.

could it be another dns issue? Can anyone get to it now?

So it’s all better now and has been for some time, but what happened? Don’t we want all the juicy details? ISPs fled to the Bahamas, covert operatives from competing virtual worlds spiking Stewart’s root beer, IIS entering into negotiations with the SEC to sell all Luuddiicoorrpp’s secrets to the King of Bahrain?
